Any time I announce in advance it’ll be an all Bob Marley Jump Up, there’s always a huge crowd! Some of these people haven’t left from last week. There are a dozen motorbikes parked out by the Shore Road. There are probably that many sailboats at anchor off our beach. Shuttle buses from the north shore, gypsy cabs from Dub City, folks on foot coming from the village of Heartbeat & down from the Hynch – Reggae Children have been showing up all day! From the earliest Wailer recordings with Bob, Peter, Bunny, Cherry, Junior & Beverley thru the Skatalite & Upsetter times then the International Glory Years!

It’s a Tuff Gong Beach Party!

The Dub Days Continue…

THE DUB DAYS CONTINUE…

The Dub Days (daze?), a periodical meteorological island occurrence lending itself to this psycho-acoustic riddim continue again this week. This generally lasts between 10 and 17 days though in ’72 it went on for over a month. What some folks might call ‘hurricane weather’ or ‘earthquake weather’, the sky takes on a strange greenish yellow hue to match the dark sea, strange folks appear, old feuds are renewed, emotions run rampant, love affairs begin or end and the dogs do bark. Our supposed extinct volcano Mt. Marcus has rumbled twice since Tuesday.

This is X-Ray music, where the shadow people play.
